Accessibility statement
Standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA · Last updated:
Katie B's Pup Pad is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology. The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Measures in place
- The site can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every link, button, and form field, and a “Skip to content” link as the first item on each page.
- The focus indicator uses two contrasting rings so it stays visible on both the light page background and the dark footer.
- Headings follow a logical order and describe the section they introduce, so pages can be navigated by structure rather than read end to end.
- Text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background; focus indicators and interface boundaries meet 3:1.
- Type is set in fluid units, so browser zoom and text scaling to 200% work without content being cut off or forcing sideways scrolling.
- Images that convey information carry alternative text. Decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
- Every form field has a real label, not just placeholder text, and required fields are marked in text rather than by color alone.
- Animation honors the “reduce motion” setting on your device. No content flashes, auto-plays, or moves on an uninterruptible timer.
- Interactive targets are at least 44 by 48 pixels.
- The Pet Care Agreement is signed with one signature at the end rather than initials on every section, which removes a long sequence of small required inputs from the intake form.
Known limitations
Some parts of the experience sit outside this website, and we would rather name them than imply otherwise.
Printable paper forms
The printable intake form is a plain web page you print from your browser, so it inherits your browser's own print behavior. If printing is difficult, contact us and we will mail or hand you a completed-by-us copy, or take the whole intake by text.
The booking dashboard
Once you are a client, appointment requests happen in our booking app at https://book.puppad.app. It is our own software and held to this same standard, but it is a separate application and is not covered by this statement. Report anything you hit there the same way, and we will fix it.
What we have not tested yet
The measures above were verified directly in the site's code and styling. These have not been done, and we would rather say so:
- A full screen-reader pass on every page with NVDA and VoiceOver.
- An independent third-party accessibility audit.
Report a barrier
If any part of this site keeps you from finding what you need, tell us the page and what happened. We will get you the information directly in the meantime — you never have to fight the website to book your dog.
Texting reaches us fastest — usually a real reply within 30 minutes during the day. You can also reach us from the contact page.
